The masterclass “The ambitious woman’s guide to emotions at work” is about a new approach to emotions at work. It’s about finding a way for you to be your true self, express that true self and not become overwhelmed by emotions. In this masterclass, I am going to change your mindset when it comes to emotions. I will show you how you can use your emotions instead of letting them use you.

About emotions at work: 

The workplace as it exists in most places today was designed by, and for, men. It was not designed to accommodate feelings and emotions. Women are often seen as “emotional” and emotions are considered something that needs to be kept at bay. 

The workplace has a tolerance for (and in some cases even encourages) men expressing aggression and anger. When it comes to women, however, expressing anger, aggression and, god forbid, tears are unacceptable. Worse, it will be held against you. 

To cope, you will have learned to repress your emotions at work. But, as you already know, this comes at a price and it doesn’t even work. Repressing your emotions is exhausting. It stops you from being yourself, leads to emotional outbursts and, eventually, burnouts. 

But there is a way out. 

Emotions have a very important role to play in the workplace. Your emotions are nothing more than information. You can learn to use your emotions so that they don’t take over. 

Used the right way, your emotions can help you perform better. They can help you make better decisions. They can help you become a better leader and create a stronger team spirit. Your emotions can help you build strong dependable and trustworthy relationships that enable you to grow in a way that is aligned with your values and your needs. 

In other words, there is a way for you to use your emotions, instead of letting them use you so that you can thrive at work.
